“LAA” ACCIDENT INSURANCE

In accordance with the federal law on accident insurance (LAA), in your capacity as employer you have to insure your personnel against the consequences of professional accidents and sickness.

With the solutions on the market, you can insure the compulsory benefits, and also provide an optimum risk cover for your employees.

DETAILED INFORMATION

Accident insurances offer a complete cover of recovery and rehabilitation costs, daily allowance for temporary working disability, permanent invalidity due to incapacity to work, and protection for family survivors.

BASIC INSURANCE

Basic insurance covers the following benefits:

  • Recovery costs
  • Outpatient and hospital treatment in the general ward
  • Auxiliary means
  • Material damage caused to auxiliary means, which morphologically or functionally replace a part of the body
  • Cost of travel, transport, rescue and extrication (with limitations abroad)
  • Transport costs for the body and funeral costs

DAILY INDEMNITY

In case of total disability: 80% of the insured salary.

Maximum insured salary: CHF 126,000 (as at 1.1.2008).

The daily allowance is paid from the 3rd day following the accident and until the insured has recovered his/her full working capacity, dies or becomes an invalid.

INVALIDITY

In case of total invalidity: 80% of the insured salary, to the max. 90% of the total with an AI pension or AVS.

Achieved in full according to the official scale, to the maximum of CHF 126,000, without considering a possible entitlement to an invalidity pension.

DEATH

Partner’s pension: 40% of the insured salary

Pension of the orphan of father or mother: 15% of the insured salary

Pension of orphan of father or mother: 25% of the insured salary

The pensions of survivors are limited to a total of 70% of the insured salary, up to the max. of 90% of the total, including AI or AVS pension.

COMPLEMENTARY INSURANCE

With this you can insure your employees in a complementary sense beyond the compulsory benefits.

Recovery Costs

  • Complementary cover for private insurance and private clinics throughout the world
  • Daily allowance
  • 80-100% for the first 2 days after the accident (up to the maximum LAA salary of CHF 126,000)
  • 20% of the lost salary (up to the maximum LAA salary of CHF 126,000)
  • 80-100% for the salary in excess (above CHF 126,000), in general to the max. CHF 300,000 per annum, per person.

INVALIDITY AND DEATH

Benefits in the form of capital or pension for the LAA salary insurance and the excess salary.

COVER FOR THE LAA DIFFERENCE

If the accident were caused unintentionally by a mistake on the part of the insured, or in the case of extraordinary dangers or acts of bravery, the LAA insurer can reduce or refuse its benefits. The cover for this difference enables you to arm yourself against such measures. Companies insured with SUVA can insure the missing benefits over and above the compulsory level.
